Our past efforts in Education, Income, Health and Homelessness are now focused on supporting children and families. We know that family stability is the foundation for all academic success;
that’s why education is now front and center so we can support young learners on their way to later success in school and life. Our current emphasis is on readiness for kindergarten and
early grade literacy through the lens of family stability and health.
United Way strives to do everything we can outside the classroom so that when a child gets to the classroom, they are ready to learn and succeed. But many factors influence
that readiness, including a family’s finances and health factors.
Here are a few ways we fill the gaps for families that need extra support:
